Alfred J. Daeger, 98, of Antwerp, Ohio passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024 at The Manor in Antwerp.
Al was born in Antwerp on September 24, 1925, a son of the late Matilda (Bulach) and Nicholas Daeger.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a Yeoman Second Class in WW II. Al established the Antwerp Federal Credit Union, worked at Dana Weatherhead and then at Scott-Fetzer Corp. Al loved the sunshine and spendng time with his family at Hamilton Lake. He also loved being married, having shared 73 of his 98 years with his two brides.
Al will be sadly missed by his wife, Donna; children, Karen (Robert) Brush, David (the late Marla) Daeger, Bruce (Terri) Daeger, Jan (the late Van) Kohart, Steve (Jo) Daeger; step children, Dawn (the late Roger) Sierra, Susan George and Brian (Dasha) George; 13 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Daeger; step daughter, Angie George and siblings, Dorothy Hettinger Weiss, Mildred Halbgewoks, Madonna, Raymond and Bernard Daeger.
Viewing is Friday, April 26th, 4 - 7 PM at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River Street, Antwerp.
Al's funeral mass is Saturday, April 27th, 10AM at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 203 W. Townline Street, Payne, Ohio. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH AFTER 9:45 AM
He will be laid to rest in Maumee Cemetery, with military honors.
