Arden King

Arden F. King, 85, of Payne, passed away at 9:40 am, Sunday, May 25th, 2008 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Arden was born in Payne on January 21, 1923, the son of the late Gaylord and Hazel (Outland) King.

He served in the U.S. Army as a Pvt after WW II and was a retired farmer.

Arden was a member of Saint Jacob's United Church of Christ, Payne & the Flatrock Masonic Lodge.

He married Betty Vitz on June 28, 1947. She died in 2002.

He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Cathy (Keith) Wiley of Bellefontaine; sons, Gayle (Helen) of Houston, Texas and Rick (Renee) of Payne and seven grandchildren.


His sister, Anita Gorrell & brother, William, preceded him in death.


You are invited to participate in his service at St. Jacob's United Church of Christ, Payne, at 11 am on Thursday, May 29th, with calling one hour prior. Rev. James Langham will officiate.

He will be laid to rest at Lehman Cemetery, Payne.

You may call Wednesday, 4 to 8 pm, with Masonic Rites at 8 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, 5761 SR 500, Payne.
