Barbara Jean Denny

Barbara Jean Denny, 83, of Paulding, passed away at home Wednesday, December 23, 2020.

She was born in Wauseon, Ohio on February 8, 1937, a daughter of the late Doris Cleola (Davidson) and George Washington Andrews.

She was known as "Grandma Barb" to so many people for whom she provided child care.  Barbara also worked at the Village Apothecary and Chief Supermarket, both in Paulding. Barb loved family gatherings, especially at the lake. She was hard pressed to miss her golf and bowling leagues and Bunko and card clubs. She was a member of Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Paulding as well as a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary.. Barbara was a strong, hardworking, generous and loving woman. She had a bold sense of humor. She raised 7 strong-willed, successful and equally humorous children. She adored all her grand and great-grand children, always displaying their drawings and photographs. She collected teacups, angels, and bird figurines. She enjoyed crocheting and was a talented seamstress – and used her talents to gift beautiful receiving infant blankets to family and friends. Her heartfelt and funny stories have entertained those who were in her company. Barbara brought joy and love to everyone she knew. She is eternally loved by everyone in her life, who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest. She was an exceptional wife, mother, sister and friend. Her faith was strong and as steadfast as the love she had for her family. She believed in angels – unbeknownst to her, she was one herself.

She will be sadly missed by her children, Marcia Mohre (David) of Edon; Theresa Hinschlager (Charles) of Sherwood,  Jay Denny (Kathy)  of Grover Hill, Joseph Denny (Franko) of Tallahassee, Florida, John Denny (Mardi) of Grover Hill & Beth Dachenhaus (Jay)  of Paulding; son-in-law, Brian Pickering (Rene) of New Haven, Indiana; sister, Linda Armstrong (David) of Wauseon;  brother-in-law, Richard (Gerry) Denny of Napoleon; 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews.

Barbara married Stephen Denny on October 20, 1956 at St Caspar’s in Wauseon. He died November 3, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Pickering and siblings, Beverly Upell, Bonnie Siler & George Gary Andrews.

Her funeral mass and burial will be held privately.
