Barabara Anne (Rhoad) Shuherk, 82 of Cromwell, Indiana died peacefully in her home, Thursday September, 20, 2012, in the care of her loving daughters and only granddaughter.
She was born November 13, 1929, in Paulding, Ohio. She was daughter of the late Edward and Blanche (Doster) Rhoad, sister of the late Bob and Dick Rhoad and Elizabeth (Rhoad) Ashton, and Eunice (Rhoad) Smith. On April 17, 1947 she married her high school sweetheart Eddie C. Shuherk, who passed away September 22, 2011.
Barbara was employed as the plant manager's secretary at Weatherhead/Dana originally at the Antwerp Plant, then transferring to the Syracuse plant in 1976. She retired in 1994 after 45 years of service.
She was a member of the Antwerp United Methodist Church and Eastern Star.
She was a wonderfully loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, family being of the utmost importance to her. She enjoyed reading her daily devotions, Bible & novels. In earlier years she was a beautiful seamstress, often making matching dresses for her daughters and herself.
Barbara Anne is survived by her three daughters, Beth Anne Seslar, Carol C. Shuherk & Cindy L. Shuherk; six grandchildren, Eric Seslar, Cassandra Anne (Craig) Daniels, Joshua (Tara) & Luke (Katie) Parrish, William & Walker Zupan; eight great-grandchildren, Cole Seslar, Caitlyn Anne & Crosby Daniels, Emma & Kyia Anne Parrish and Adilyn, Jacqulyn & Ayden Gates; brother, Donald (Isobel) Rhoad and cousin, Marilyn Hedde.
The viewing will be held Monday, September 24, 2012, 4 to 8 pm, at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River Street, Antwerp, Ohio.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am with viewing one hour prior at Antwerp United Methodist Church.
