Benjamin Oberlin, 36, of Payne, passed away early Saturday January 3rd, 2009 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana after his battle with cancer. Ben was born at the Paulding Hospital on March 26th 1972.
He is survived by and sadly missed by his girlfriend Billie Boroff of Payne, his Parents Don and Marsha (Gerencser) Oberlin of Antwerp, brothers Gabriel of Hicksville and Matthew of Antwerp, nieces, Heather and Katie Oberlin, and grandparents Charles and Donna (Shough) Oberlin of Bryan and Paul Gerencser of Antwerp. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Dorothy (Strubing) Gerencser and by uncles Larry Gerencser and Timothy Oberlin. Ben was a 1990 graduate of Antwerp High School and graduated from the Ohio State University with a BA degree in Fine Art with a major in Computer Animation. He was employed at Tri-State Solarcrete, Payne.
Ben enjoyed video games, motorcycles, computers and playing horseshoes. Ben was a good cook and was especially good at preparing Cajun food.
You are invited to attend a memorial service and to celebrate Ben's life with his family at Grant's Reception Hall, Antwerp at 2 pm on Saturday January 17th.
