Beth Hammond

Elizabeth Ann Hammond, 89, of Antwerp, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at her home.  

Beth was born in Hicksville, Ohio on February 28, 1933, a daughter of the late Helen (Perl) & Joseph Derck.

Beth worked at the Antwerp School Cafeteria for 20 years. Her most important job, though, was that of mom and grandma. She loved her family dearly and cherished all her many grandchildren from the oldest to the youngest. She was a member of Divine Mercy Catholic Church. She was devoted to her faith and actively prayed the rosary.

She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Jan (John) Reeb, Joyce (Steve) Parrish, Carolyn (Gary) Gross, Elaine (Steve) Foust, Donna (Ted) Laker, Laura (Mark) Bissell, & Sara (Brett) Johanns; sister-in-law, Nancy Derck; brothers-in-law, Vaughn Franklin & Denny (Wendy) Hammond; 24 grand children; 61 great grandchildren; & 2 great great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bill; sons, William & David; grandson, Jason; great granddaughter, Harper; brothers, Jerry & Steve Derck; & sisters, Mary Lou Kemerer-Peter & Kathleen Franklin.

Viewing is Friday, September 9, 2022, from 4-7 PM at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River St., Antwerp, Ohio 45813.

Viewing is also Saturday, September 10, 2022, from 9-9:30 AM at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 10 AM at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 303 Monroe St., Antwerp, Ohio 45813.

She will be laid to rest at Maumee Cemetery.

Memorials are to the American Heart Association or for Masses (Divine Mercy Catholic Church).
