Betty L Smith

Betty L. Smith,  77  of Hicksville passed away March 30, 2014 at Parkview Regional Medical Center.

Betty was born in Urbana on March 9, 1937, a daughter of the late Opal (Newsome) Shugars and Carl  Bender.

She will be sadly missed by her children Beverly Becher of Defiance, Brenda (Tom) McAlexander of Granger, IN, Sharon Jackson of Mark Center, Robin (Roger) Theis of Camden, MI, Kevin Schooley Marion,Ohio,  Lenny (Jennifer) Gamble Hicksville, Tina (George) Hall of Antwerp, Patty (Eric) Nix of Kouts, IN & Tanya (Todd) Greenwalt of Hicksville; siblings, Kitty (Tom) Stuckman Hicksville & Sally (Vic) Hill of Wolcottville, IN, special friend and sister-in-law Margaret Clemens, Broughton, and a host of grandchildren & great grandchildren and a great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Brian Schooley; brother, Ronald Bender; sister, Phyllis Noragon & husbands, Harold Schooley, James Gamble and Charles (Jim) Smith.

Her funeral service is Thursday at 2:30 pm, with viewing one hour prior at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp, where viewing is also Wednesday, 2-4 & 6-8 pm.

She will be laid to rest at Six Corners Cemetery.
