Richard "Buck" Walters, 76, of Hamilton, formerly of Antwerp, passed away Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008 at DeKalb Hospital, Auburn, Indiana.
Buck was born in Ohio City, on July 5, 1931, the son of the late Hugh and Velma (Shinaberry) Walters.
He served in the U.S. Air Force in the Korean War and retired from BF Goodrich in 1993.
Buck was a member of Antwerp VFW, Butler American Legion, Butler Fraternal Order of Eagles,
Hamilton Fish & Game Club and was a little league baseball coach.
On December 23, 1978, he married Frances Hunter, who survives. Buck will be sadly missed by his wife, Frankie; daughter, Cindy (Todd) Deming of Defiance; son, Chris of Antwerp; stepdaughters, Rhonda (Joe) Friend of Antwerp & Renee (Brian) Dirrim of Edgerton; stepson, Randy Ott of Antwerp; sister, Carolyn (Richard) Brandt of New Haven; brother Jerry (Bonnie) of West Liberty; 12 grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Marcia Manley & Dorothy Hart & brothers, Ronald & Bill.
You are invited to participate in his service at Divine Mercy Catholic Parish (formerly St Mary's), Antwerp, at 11 am on Monday, July 7th, with Deacon Robert Nighswander officiating.
He will be laid to rest at Maumee Cemetery, Antwerp.
