Carolyn Jean Watson, 86, of Antwerp, OH, formerly of Auburn, IN passed away Monday, January 7, 2013 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home, Hicksville.
Carolyn was born in Wabash, Indiana on July 30, 1926, a daughter of the late Vera (Stone) and Carl Burton Irelan.
She was a 1944 graduate of Wabash High School and went on to graduate from DePauw University in 1948, where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. She was also a member of the First Christian Church, the Auburn Women's Club & the Ladies Literary Club of Auburn. Carolyn was a teacher & homemaker, who loved needlepointing, quilting, sewing, knitting, painting, crafting & gardening.
On July 1, 1950 she married Dr. James R. Watson, who passed away Dec. 29, 2004.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Christine Feichter of Antwerp & Jeffrey (Laura) Watson of Noblesville, IN; grandchildren Erica (Taylor) Sorg of Prescott, AZ, Stephanie, Hannah & Meredith Watson of Noblesville, Katelyn & Hayley Feichter of Antwerp; step granddaughter, Abby (Tom) Anderson of Brandon, FL & 2 step great grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were her sisters, Lois Speicher & Marcile Hahn.
Viewing is Wednesday, 5 to 8 pm, Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River St, Antwerp and Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 pm, at Pinnington-McComb Funeral & Cremation Services, 502 N. Main, Auburn, IN.
Her service is at Pinnington-McComb Funeral & Cremation Services, Auburn at 11 am on Friday, January 11, 2013, with viewing one hour prior.
She will be laid to rest at Falls Cemetery, Wabash.
