Charles L. Bernard, 74, of Antwerp, passed away Friday, July 25th, 2008 at Regional Heart & Vascular Center, Toledo.

Charles was born on November 27, 1933 in Defiance, Ohio, the son of the late Charles and Delcenia Adel (Lee) Bernard

He worked as a Boilermaker and 35 years as an Iron Worker. He served in the United States Marine Corps in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Antwerp Community Church of the Nazarene. He was also a member of the Masons.

He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Toni Bernard of Hicksville, sons, Charles Bernard of Cecil, Randy Bernard of Latty, Shawn Bernard of Antwerp, Scott Bernard of Bryan & Robert Bernard of Massachusetts. He is also survived by a sister Gloria Shenkel of Port Clinton.

Charles is preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Thompson and sons, Gregory & Anthony Bernard.

You are invited to participate in his funeral service Wednesday July 30, 2008 at 11:00AM at the Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp. You may call Tuesday from 5:00 - 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. The Rev. Scott Marsee will officiate.

He will be laid to rest in the Maumee Cemetery, Antwerp. His family requests memorials to the charity of your choice.
