CLARENCE "SOD" R. HELLE, 82, of Paulding, passed away at 9:30 am, Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007 at his residence.

Born in Paulding, on November 23, 1924, the son of the late Frederick H. and Stella F. (Corwin) Helle.

He attended a country school through 8th grade, graduated from Paulding High School and served in the U.S. Army as a Sgt. in WW II.

Clarence was a farmer, but also worked at International Harvester for 24 years and enjoyed amateur radio, fishing, camping & tractors and steam engines. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Paulding and Paulding VFW Post #587.

On March 8, 1947 he married Marjorie J. Ream, who passed away May 10, 1972. His second wife, Reba Boyer, has also passed away.

He will be sadly missed by his daughters, Barbara (Doug) Morris of Fort Wayne & Sue Ann (Gene) Dunham of Urbana; sons, Allan (Cynthia) of Paulding & Dennis (Joyce) of Hicksville; stepdaughter, Linda Williams of California; companion, Betty Craft of Hillsboro; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

His sister, Ada Danklefsen and brother, Paul have passed away.

You are invited to participate in his funeral service at Antwerp Community Church of the Nazarene at 11 am on Saturday, October 6th, with Rev. Michael Schneider officiating.

You may call Friday, 2-4 & 6-8 pm, at Dooley Funeral Home and Saturday, one hour prior to services, at the church.

He will be laid to rest at Saint Paul Cemetery, Paulding, with military honors.
