Darrell Lee Bowditch, 80, of Harlan, Indiana passed away Friday, February 7, 2025.
Darrell was born in Hillsdale, Michigan on July 4, 1944, a son of the late Virginia (Overly) and Russell Bowditch.
He was a lifelong sports fan having won the state basketball championship in 1961 for the Ayersville High School Pilots. Darrell continued to support IU Basketball and Michigan Football and loved to golf. He always put his family and faith first which was evident in the special love he had for his family and his journey of faith at Woodburn Missionary Church.
His family and friends will never forget his humorous sayings like, "don't slam the door", you're a dandy" and "what's for dessert".
Darrell will be sadly missed by his wife of 60 years, Karen (Kemper), to whom he was married September 19, 1964; children, Brad (Beth) Bowditch and Kristina (Scott) Connally; son-in-law, Rik Yingling; siblings, Marilynn Ripke, Dan Bowditch, Marcia (Ken) Price and Dallis (Nancy) Bowditch; grandchildren, Madison (David) Stout, Corinne, Morgan, Justine, Duncan, Sam & Emma and great grandchildren, Evelynn and Elias.
He was also preceded in death by his children, Todd Bowditch and Traci Yingling and brother, DeWayne Bowditch.
Visitation will be 11 AM to 3 PM on Friday, March 7th at Woodburn Missionary Church, 5108 Bull Rapids Rd, Woodburn, Indiana.
Darrell's celebration of life service will be held at 3:30 PM on Friday, March 7th at Woodburn Missionary Church.
