David Andrew Bevis

David Andrew Bevis, age 85 of Payne Ohio died at 9:00PM on July 29, 2008 at the Dallas Lamb Foundation.
He was born February 6, 1923 in Cincinnati Ohio, the son of Norman D. and Ruth Ellen (Betscher) Bevis.
On February 18, 1944 he married Marian Mae Miller who died in 1993.
He attended Ohio State University and played on the OSU football team.
He served in The United States Army Air Corps, in World War II receiving the Bronze Star Medal and the Air Medal.
He spent most of his working life farming. He also worked at U.S. Rubber, Permaglass and the Weatherhead Corporation.
He was a life member of the American Legion Post # 297 - Payne. He was also a member of St Paul United Methodist Church - Payne.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marian and two sisters who died in infancy.

He is survived by a son Michael (Cheryl) Bevis of Paulding, Ohio and a Daughter Barbara (James) Vanderford of North Myrtle Beach S Carolina.
He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 18 great Grandchildren and 4 Great Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Monday August 4, 2008 at 11:00AM at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Payne. Officiating will be the Rev. Amy Haines.
Friends may call at the Dooley Funeral Home, Payne from 4:00 - 8:00PM Sunday and at the church one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in the Wiltsie Cemetery - Payne, Ohio.
Preferred memorials are to St Paul's United Methodist Church of Payne.
