David John Cottrell

David John Cottrell, 59, of Antwerp,  passed away Monday, April 18, 2016 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. 

David was born in Hicksville on March 31, 1957, the son of  Maxine  (Sohn) and Richard L Cottrell.

He was a 1975 graduate of Hicksville High School and attended the Toledo Meat Cutting School.Although he was the owner of Cottrell Tile & Drainage, his heart belonged to his family and friends. He was always quick to lend a helping hand! His best times were spent on family cruises, hunting, woodworking and farming with John Deere equipment. David also was a member of the Antwerp Conservation Club & St. John Lutheran Church, Sherwood.

David will be sadly missed by his mother, Maxine of Hicksville; sisters, Barbara (Larry) Sziklay of New Albany, IN, Susan Cottrell of Hicksville & Lisa Cottrell (Steve Cumber) of Stafford, VA; niece, Sarah Cottrell-Cumber & nephew, Matthew Cottrell-Cumber.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard; grandparents, John & Estella Sohn. and Lloyd & Madeline Cottrell.

Viewing is  Friday, April 22nd from 2-8 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp.

His funeral service is at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp at 11 am, with viewing one hour prior on Saturday, April 23rd.

He will be laid to rest at Sherwood Cemetery.
