Delma Cornell

Delma L. Cornell, 85, of Antwerp, passed away Monday, September 16, 2024, at her home. 

Del was born in Rorian Creek, NC on September 5, 1939, a daughter of the late Berdie (Hughes) & DeLafayette Singleton. 

Del was a hardworking and dedicated woman who spent many years working at Kings Department Store and later at Stuart's Dress Shop. She also made a living by cleaning houses and found joy in giving back to her community, volunteering for both hospice and the Bargain Bin in Paulding. Del cherished her vacations back home to North Carolina and Tennessee, where she loved reconnecting with family and enjoying the beauty of the mountains. She will always be remembered as a dainty, God-loving, classy, and welcoming woman who touched many lives with her warmth and kindness. 

Del will be sadly missed by her husband, Monty; children, Carol (the late Ron) Jackson, Alice Mendez, & Patsy (the late Percy) Berry; siblings, Irene Sparks, Billy Singleton, & FD Singleton; grandchildren, Crystal Trabel, Christopher Jackson, Arron Berry, Melanie Berry, Alex Berry, Stephanie Moore, Steve Shull; 11 great grandchildren; & 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lorie Lynn, & siblings, Opal, John, Bob, Arland, Joda, & Celia. 

Viewing will be Wednesday, September 18th from 4 to 7 PM at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp. 

Service is Thursday, September 19th at 10 AM with viewing one hour prior at the funeral home. 

She will be laid to rest in Maumee Cemetery. 

Memorials are to Elara Caring Hospice or the Antwerp Community Church of the Nazarene.
