Donald James Cadwallader, 85, of Payne, passed away at 4:40 am, Sunday, February 17th, 2008 at Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center.
Don was born in Paulding, on October 21, 1922, the son of the late Everett James and Myrtle Mabel (Munson) Cadwallader.
He was the co-owner of C&Y Oil, Payne.
Having served in the Air Force during WW II he proudly attended the WW II Memorial dedication in Wash, DC. He was a member of the Payne Church of Christ, where he was a deacon & elder; Payne Flatrock Masonic Lodge #580; the Payne American Legion; Payne Chamber of Commerce; Union State Bank Board and Payne School Board. Don enjoyed flying Champ & Sesna airplanes, golf and mowing grass.
On November 4, 1943, he married Mildred Tracey, who survives. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Millie; daughter, Cheryl Luther of Payne; sons, Ted (Loretta) of Tonawanda, NY, Gary (Kathy) of Payne & Thomas (Kim) of Van Wert; brother, Warren of Fort Wayne; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Geyer and brothers, Harold & Raymond.
You are invited to participate in his funeral, Wednesday, 11 am, at the Payne Church of Christ with Rev. Jammie Hughes officiating.
You may call Tuesday, 2 to 8 pm, with Masonic Rites at 8 pm, at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River St., Antwerp and Wednesday, 1 hr. prior to his service, at the church.
He will be laid to rest at Lehman Cemetery, Payne.
