Donald Ray Hissong

Donald R. Hissong, 96, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Parkview Regional Medical Center.

Donald was born in Hicksville, Ohio on October 29, 1926, a son of the late Mina (Rumbaugh) & Ray Hissong.

Don proudly served his nation in the US Army during WWII.  He then went on to a career in sales and worked as a general manager for Migro Hybrids before his retirement.  He spent many years living at Lake George and enjoyed the lake life.  Don was a member if the Inland Cat Sailing Association and for many years raced every Saturday during his time at Lake George.  He and his wife also spent many years living in Florida enjoying the sunshine.

He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Roxanna (Jon) Fuller; grandchildren, Todd (Marilyn) Hissong, Jon Fuller, & Julie (Shea) Fuller; great grandchildren, Morgan (Justin) Ginder, Jordan Hissong, Makayla Hissong, & Chaz Fuller; 2 great grandchildren; & his dog, Daisy.

A very special thank you to our friend, Anita Shaw, who provided the most loving care and companionship to Don over the last year and also to Jessie Doyle and the entire staff at Eleos Hospice for their services.

Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Hissong; son, Larry Hissong, & 6 siblings.

Viewing is Friday, December 2, 2022, from 10-11 AM at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W River St., Antwerp, Ohio 45813.

Service is Friday, December 2, 2022 at 11 AM at  Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp.

He will be laid to rest in Scipio Cemetery, Harlan, Indiana, with military honors.
