Donnie Schmidt

Donnie L. Schmidt, 84, of Payne, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at her home. 

Donnie was born on October 13, 1939, in Mt. Hope, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Gracie (Deal) & Edward Lumsden. 

Donnie was a devoted homemaker who poured her heart into caring for her family, always ensuring their needs were met with love and dedication. As a faithful member of St. Paul Methodist Church, her life was guided by her deep spiritual beliefs. Donnie cherished her quiet moments, often found with a book in hand, finding solace and joy in the pages of the many stories she read. She also loved spending time at the lake, going for walks, and spending time with God in prayer.  Donnie cherished her family and grandchildren, showering them with love and cherishing the time she spent with them. 

She will be sadly missed by her son, Bruce (Brenda) of Payne; grandchildren, Jamie, Brandon, Justin, Casey Schmidt, & Alicia Young; & 11 great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delane; siblings, Betty Welch & Loretta Wyss; & son, Edward. 

Service will be Saturday, August 24th at 11 AM with viewing 9-11 AM at St Paul Methodist Church, Payne. 

She will be laid to rest privately in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Payne.
