Doris M. Pendergrast age 81 Antwerp passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday December 21, 2009.
She was born on July 17, 1928 in Lake County (Tiptonville) Tennessee, the daughter of Alton and Dortha (Richardson) Williams. On August 19, 1944 she married James G. Pendergrast who survives. They moved to the Antwerp area in 1947. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, sewing, needlework, travel, bird watching and canning. She especially enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She was a former volunteer at the Paulding Senior Center.
She is survived by her husband James, three sons Brooks (Linda) Pendergrast of Antwerp, James (Julie) Pendergrast of Antwerp, David (Elaine) Pendergrast of Antwerp and three daughters Donna (John) Knippen of Delphos Ohio, Shelia Dailey of Woodburn, Indiana and Shelly (Brock) Howell of Cecil, Ohio. She is also survived by a brother Charles E. Williams of Colorado Springs, Colorado, 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Doris was preceded in death by brothers Alton Williams, Richard Williams and Joshua Shelby Williams who died in infancy. She was preceded in death by a sister Dorothy Sue Warner.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 - 9:00 on Wednesday at the Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Thursday, December 24, 2009 at the Paulding Church of Christ. Services will be conducted by Everett Confer, Minister. There will be one hour of viewing from 10:00 - 11:00AM at the church, prior to the service.
Burial will be in the Maumee Cemetery, Antwerp
