Edna Wannemacher Fowler, 81, of Payne passed away Thursday, December 8, 2011 at her residence.  

Edna L Fowler born in Paulding on April 28, 1930, raised in McGill, Ohio a daughter of the late Lillian (Johnson) and Samuel  Harris.

She was a member of Divine Mercy Catholic Parish; the Evening Stars Study Club; the Town and Country Club and the Payne Grange. She worked at the Title Office in Paulding; the Farm Bureau; and Nationwide Insurance under Carl Ankney & Jim Hooker and wrote for the Paulding Progress & Antwerp Bee Argus.

On May 20, 1949 she married Alphons Wannemacher, Jr. who passed away Dec. 16, 1969.  On Jan. 26, 1974 she married Lester Fowler.

Edna will be sadly missed by her husband, Lester; children, Judith (Larry) Hammons of Fort Wayne; Jane (James) Collis of Payne; Michael (Lynette) Fowler, Debra Thompson, Kevin (Diana) Fowler & Bruce (Lisa) Fowler  all of Columbus; sister, Kathryn Harris of Fort Wayne; 14 grandchildren & 12 great grandchildren.

She is also preceded in death by her sons, Alan Joe, Byron & Myron Wannemacher and brothers, Leonard & Wesley Ward Harris.    

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated  at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Payne, at 10 am on Tuesday, December 13th,  with Rev. G. Allan Fillman officiating.

Viewing is Monday, 2-8 pm & Tuesday, 9-9:30 am at Dooley Funeral Home, Payne.  

The rosary will be recited at 8 pm Monday at Dooley Funeral Home.

She will be laid to rest at St John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials are to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or American Cancer Society.
