Edward Henry Champion, 81, of Fort Wayne, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Ashton Creek Health and Rehab.
Ed was born in Mark Center on January 27, 1943, a son of the late Martha (Breininger) & Cecil Champion.
Ed was a dedicated and brave man who served his country with honor in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968, a period he was incredibly proud of. After his military service, he went on to have a long and successful career at Navistar, retiring in 1998. Though committed to his work and his country, Ed’s greatest devotion was always to his family. He will be remembered most fondly as a loving husband, father, and grandfather, whose strength, kindness, and loyalty left a lasting impact on those who knew him.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Beth, to whom he was married January 14, 1982; children, Tracy & Jeff Champion, Melissa (Chris) Kreilach, & Angela (Ron) Sharp; siblings, Carol (Owen) Schroeder, Lauretta Sonner, & Kay Ludeker; & 8 grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 5th at 2:30 PM at Maumee Cemetery, Antwerp.
He will be laid to rest in Maumee Cemetery.
