Eliene D. Cox, 92, of Payne, passed away at 8:35 PM, Thursday, June 5th, 2008 at Dallas Lamb Foundation Home.
Eliene was born in Payne on February 2, 1916, the daughter of the late Wesley and Inez (Nelson) Deerwester.
She graduated from Payne High School in 1934. On September 5, 1936 she married Otis Cox, who passed away February 24, 1985. Eliene was a loving wife, mother & grandmother. She had worked at Strayers IGA, Bissell's City Market, both in Payne, and later worked in the family business, Cox Repair. Eliene also provided care to many people in the community. She was a member of Payne Church of Christ and past member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She will be sadly missed by her 3 sons, Kenneth (Sandy), Gene (Sheryl), both of Payne and Ross (Connie) of Bryan; 9 grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and 4 neices, Ann Grimes of Dayton, Marilyn (Philip) Morse of Danville, KY, Evelyn Rios of Atascadero, CA & Joan Emberlin of Prescott Valley, AZ.
She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Jay, Floyd & Kenneth Deerwester and 2 sisters, Mildred Stabler & Irene Graham and one great grandson, Morgan Cox.
Graveside services are Wednesday, 11 am at Wiltsie Cemetery, Payne, with Rev. Jammie Hughes officiating.
