Ellen Carpenter

Ellen Marie Carpenter, 73, of Woodburn, went to be with the Lord on December 13, 2024. 

Ellen was born on October 15, 1951, in Fort Wayne, IN to Gilbert R. “Duke” and Lois Ellen Augspurger. 

She married Todd A. Carpenter on October 8, 1970. Together they have two children: Candy Jo Carpenter of New Haven, and Kyle S. Carpenter of New Haven. Grandchildren include Cameron Evans of Auburn and Corbin Evans of Fort Wayne. Todd was in the US Navy for 6 years; where she followed on his journey from California, to Rota, Spain, and back to California. They settled back in Woodburn, IN, in May of 1974. They were animal lovers who cared for several dogs through the years, most recently Mattie and Riley. Ellen retired after 28 years of service at Financial Partners Federal Credit Union, Woodburn, IN. She enjoyed many varieties of crafts; but scrapbooking and crocheting were her favorites. Her most cherished projects were crocheting hats for veterans, the cancer centers, and NICU babies. She also enjoyed sports, especially the Chicago Cubs. Go Cubs Go!! 

Left to cherish her memory: her spouse Todd, children and grandchildren, her siblings Beverly Riebersal, Anita Warnimont, and Randy (Teri) Augspurger. 

Preceded in death: sister, Marilyn Jo Mann, sister Sandra S. Strong, two brothers-in-law Hib Riebersal and Tom Warnimont, and nephew Tim Betts Jr.
