Frances G. Walters

Frances "Frankie" Walters, 85, of Fort Wayne, formerly of Hamilton, Indiana and Antwerp, Ohio.passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.

Frankie was born in Bristol, England on October 1, 1936. 

Frankie and her mother moved to the United States when she was 11 years old. Together they own and operated a small grocery store. She graduated from Central Catholic High School in Ft Wayne and went to work as a material handler at Dietrich, where she had the distinction of being the first woman to drive a tow motor. In her early years she worked at H & H Cleaners alongside her former husband, Chuck Ott. In retirement, Frankie enjoyed playing mahjong, bingo, cards, and board games, and was also a member of the Red Hats. She enjoyed enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially at the lake.

She will be sadly missed by her children, Randy (Nancy Cook) Ott, Rhonda (Joe) Friend, & Renee (Brian) Dirrim; stepchildren, Cindy Deming & Chris (Melinda) Walters; companion, Joe Bennitt. grandchildren, Danielle, Christopher, Abbey, Jessica, Craig, Kelli, Amber, Aubrey, Oliva & Cain; 19 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild. her companion, Joe Bennitt.

Frankie is preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Buck" Walters and parents, Genevieve (Powell) & Otto Hunter.

Viewing is 4 to 7 PM on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W River St., Antwerp, Ohio 45813.

Viewing is also 9:00 to 9:30 AM on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Dooley Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 303 Monroe St., Antwerp, OH 45813.

She will be laid to rest at Maumee Cemetery, Antwerp.
