Garnett (Hamlin) Coleman, 99, of Butler, Indiana passed away Thursday, February 17th, at Parkview DeKalb, Auburn, Indiana.
Garnett was born in Wolfpit, Kentucky on December 18, 1922, a daughter of the late Mamie (Coleman) and Joseph Hamlin.
She retired from Edgerton Metals in Edgerton, Ohio. Garnett was a fiercely independent woman who loved her family. They will always remember her cornbread for dinner every Sunday at her home and the magic touch that she had with plants and flowers.
Garnett will be sadly missed by her children, Clay (Joyce) Coleman and Dianne "Deanna" (Brian) Bartrom; siblings, Don Hamlin, Colleen Elkins, Vernie Coleman & Phyllis Justice; grandchildren, Leesa (Jeff) Hahn, J. David Coleman, Melissa (Cory) Alvord and Bridget Schimpf; 8 great grandchildren & 5 great great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Pleny Junior Coleman and siblings, June Adkins, Bernice Prater, Raymond, Robert, Woodrow and Everett Hamlin.
Viewing is Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 6 PM to 9 PM at Thacker Funeral Home, 1118 S Mayo Trail, Pikeville, KY 41501
Garnett will be laid to rest in Coleman Family Cemetery, Wolfpit, Kentucky.
