Gary Bennett

Gary R. Bennett, 83, of Payne, Ohio passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Vancrest of Payne.

Gary was born in Paulding County, Ohio on April 17, 1942, a son of the late Jeanie Pauline (Cavinder) and Doven Maxwell Bennett.

In his youth, Gary's pastimes were baseball, basketball, fishing, NASCAR and racing go karts. He spent 37 years as an inspector and machine operator at Zollner Corp in Fort Wayne. Gary would want to be known as a hard working, goofy and loving man who loved to show off his red El Camino at car shows. He looked forward to camping and fishing trips to Canada and cheering for The Chicago Cubs and Atlanta Braves.

Gary will be sadly missed by his wife, Rose (Posey), to whom he was married October 6, 1962; daughters, Paula Bennett and Michelle (Aaron) Lowe; brother, D'Nell Edwards; grandson, Blade Lowe and his four legged friends, Socks, Lilly, Sylvester and Buddy.

He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Dennis "Dutch" Bennett, Delores "Doke" Gosik and Garnet Roush.

Viewing is Tuesday, April 29th, 5 PM to 7 PM at Dooley Funeral Home, 5761 SR 500, Payne.

His funeral service is 10:30 AM on Wednesday, April 30th at Dooley Funeral Home, Payne.

He will be laid to rest in Lehman Cemetery, Payne.
