Gene L. Flaugh

Gene Lynn Flaugh Proud Army Veteran of the Vietnam era, 76, passed away peacefully Friday, April 5, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones.

Gene was born September 8, 1947 to Roy and Elenore (Guysinger) Flaugh in Paulding, Ohio.

After Gene graduated from Payne High School in 1966, he went on to serve our country in the Vietnam War from 1967-1969. After which he returned home and began his career at BFGoodrich in Woodburn, Indiana where he worked for 40 years.

On September 9, 1967 Gene married Kathy Baumert in Payne, Ohio at St James Luthern church. Gene and Kathy went on to have three children and six grandchildren.

In 2010 Gene retired and spent his time at Pleasant Valley Golf Course, on the lake fishing with friends and spending time with his grandkids.

Gene is survived by his loving wife Kathy of 56 years; sister, Carol (Russ) Zuber; mother-in-law, Nadine Baumert; children, Trent (Audrey) Flaugh, Kimra (Jason) Williamson and Kiley Flaugh and six grandchildren Logan and Landon Flaugh, Hayden, Garrett, Griffin and Maxton Williamson. 

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Elenore, father-in-law, LeRoy (Whitey) Baumert, and brother Jerry (Dorothy) Flaugh. 

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 3 - 7 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, 5761 SR 500, Payne.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 12, 2024 at 11am at Saint James Lutheran Church, 511 W Townline St, Payne, where the family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service. Gene will receive military honors outside of the church to conclude his service.
