Glen W. Schmidt

Glen W. Schmidt, 87, of Payne, passed away Wednesday, July 2,  2014 at Parkview Regional Medical Center.

Glen was born in Payne, on September 18, 1926, a son of the late Ida (Carpenter) and Harry  Schmidt.

He proudly served in the U.S. Navy,  was the owner of the Blacksmith Shop in Payne & co-owner of Almet in New Haven.  Glen was a devout member of Divine Mercy Catholic Parish.  

On March 15, 1947 Glen married Donna Deeter.

Glen will be sadly missed by his wife, Donna; children, Dennis (Shirley) of Hawaii, Daniel of Englewood, FL, Diane (Jim) Langbehn of Cornelius OR, Gregory of Cedarville, IN & Gay (James) Beebe of Delton, MI; siblings, Victoria Fisher, Lucille,  Paul & William (Linda) all of  Payne, Roy (Joann) & Delores Dougherty both of Fort Wayne & Betty Rister of Antwerp; 17 grandchildren &  16  great grandchildren and a great great grandchild..

Glen's funeral mass will be at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Payne, on Tuesday July 8, 2014, 10 am.

Viewing is Monday, 4-7:30 pm with the rosary recited at 7:30 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, Payne, where viewing is also Tuesday, 9-9:30 am.

He will be laid to rest at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
