Goldie Getrost

GOLDIE MAY GETROST, 95, of Antwerp, passed away at 7:15 AM, Friday, September 21st, 2007 at the Manor House Assisted Living, Antwerp.

Goldie was born in Sherwood, on March 23, 1912, the daughter of the late Frank and Dora (Aschliman) Boland.

She was a homemaker, piano teacher and Sunday organist at the Antwerp United Methodist Church, where she was a member. She also played for many local weddings and funerals.

On Dec 2, 1933 she married, Wendell "Bud" Getrost who has passed away, along with her sons Wendell "Jerry" and James Getrost; grandson, James and brother, Kenneth Boland.

Goldie will be sadly missed by her daughter-in-law, Ruth (Lester) Hart of Antwerp; grandaughters, Kathy Whitney and Barbara Butzin both of Antwerp & Amy Waszak of Temecula, CA; grandsons, Randy & John both of Antwerp and Ron of Fort Wayne.

You are invited to participate in her funeral service at Antwerp United Methodist Church, Antwerp, at 11:00 with calling one hour prior to her service, on Tuesday, September 25th, with Rev. Michael Schneider officiating.
