Harold A. Trzynka, age 81, of Antwerp, passed away Tuesday, March 29th, 2005, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was born in Chicago on January 25, 1924, the son of Carl E. and Selma H. (Nimmer) Trzynka. Harold married Gloria Slaymaker July 10, 1954. She passed away August 22, 2000. He attended Ossian High School from 1939 to 1942, he enlisted in the Army Air Corp where he served as a B-17 radio operator T/SGT in WW II. He went on to graduate from Valaparaiso University Law School with a Juris Doctorate and then graduated from Capital University (Trinity Seminary) in Columbus with a Bachelor of Divinity degree. He served as a Lutheran school teacher and parish pastor in several midwest locations, including Bethel Christian Church, Arthur, Ohio. He was a teacher at Antwerp Local Schools, retiring in the late 1980's. He will be sadly missed by his children, Mary Jewel of Hicksville, Linda Brown, Martha Straley and Elizabeth Ratliff all of Antwerp, Paul of Marshfield, MA, Philip of New York, Peter of Fort Wayne and Joseph of Hicksville; sisters, Evelyn Caston & Ardis Lunz of Fort Wayne and Marilyn Kimmel of New Haven; brothers, Norman of New Haven and Eugene & James of Ossian; 28 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. You are invited to participate in his funeral service at Bethel United Methodist Church, Cecil, at 11 am, Friday, April 1st, with Reverend Charles Schmunk officiating. You may call Thursday, from 2 until 8 pm, at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp, and after 10 am Friday at the church. He will be laid to rest at Spindler Cemetery, Mark Center, Ohio.
