Helen R. Thompson, 84, of Payne, passed away at 7:12 am, Thursday, August 27th, 2009 at Dallas Lamb Foundation Home.
Helen was born in Antwerp on December 7, 1924, the daughter of the late Ray E. and Ida (Meyer) Zuber.
She was a homemaker during her years on the farm & later worked in the Payne Elemetary cafeteria.
She was a member of Divine Mercy Catholic Parish of Paulding County.
On November 25, 1944 she married Virgil W. Thompson who died in 1995.
Helen will be sadly missed by her daughters, Sharon (Jim) Jackson of Paulding, Elaine "Toots" (John) Sherrick of Celina, Nancy (Tony) Burkley & Debra (Mike) Brigner, both of Payne; sons, Marvin (Barb) of Scott & Roger of Convoy; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Naomi Smith; grandson, Nathan & great granddaughter, Aubrey Lynn Klausing.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at Divine Mercy Catholic Parish, Payne, at 10 am on Monday, August 31st, with Rev. G. Allan Fillman officiating.
Her viewing is Sunday, 2 to 8 pm with a Cathoic vigil service at 7:30 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, 5761 SR 500, Payne. You may also call Monday, 9 to 9:30 am at the funeral home.
She will be laid to rest at St John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Payne.
Her family requests donations to the Alzheimer's Assn. or Divine Mercy Catholic School.
