Herman F. Foster

HERMAN F. FOSTER, age 75, of Antwerp, Ohio, passed away at 10 :00 PM, Thursday, March 2nd, 2006 at Harborside Healthcare, Defiance, Ohio.

Born in Glenwood, Arkansas on June 12, 1930, he was the son of the late Joseph F. and Sudie B. (McKinnon) Foster.

He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He also served in the U.S. Army Air Force as a Staff Sergeant having 11 1/2 years of military service altogether.


He had 25 years in law enforcement as a Sheriff's Deputy in Paulding County. He was Antwerp's Chief of Police and a Five County Drug & Alcohol Investigator.

He was a member of Antwerp United Methodist Church.

Herman enjoyed fishing and cooking at the campfire with his family.

He married Margaret Lucille Grisham September 3, 2000. She survives in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

He is also survived by the mother of his seven children, Norma Ludwick Coldwater, MI; daughters and sons-in-law, Beth & Roger Weidler, Fort Wayne, Becky & Bill Zartman, Antwerp, Sue & Rick Page, Archbold & Sudie Foster, Mount Vernon, Illinois; sons, Joe, Jim & Jon all of Defiance; 18 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Herman's grandson; 2 sisters and 2 brothers have passed away.


You are invited to participate in his funeral service Friday, March 10th at 11 am at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp, with Rev. Michael Schneider officiating.

Military honors will be held at the funeral home.


You may call Thursday, from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 pm and Friday after 10 am.
