Howard James Kilpatrick

Howard J Kilpatrick, 84, of Payne, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.

Howard was born in Payne on December 14, 1931 a son of the late Helen (Ruger) & Glen Kilpatrick.

He proudly served his country in the US Army from 1952 to 1954.

Howard made many friends during his 47 years at Art Iron in Fort Wayne.  He also farmed for 25 years and had a bulldozer business in his younger years.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Shirley (Elston), whom he married July 28, 1956; 3 children, David & Steven, both of Payne & Lori (Kurt) Rehling of Lima; 3 grandchildren, Katrina Krista & Kory; 2 siblings, Lois Northey & John both of Fort Wayne and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Donna Kuhn, Ward & Herbert.

Service is Wednesday, 11 am, with viewing one hour prior at Dooley Funeral Home, 5761 SR 500, Payne.

Viewing is also Tuesday, 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, Payne. 

He will be laid to rest at Lehman Cemetery with military honors.

Memorials are to Shriners Hospital for Children or St. Joseph Hospital Burn Unit.
