Jackie Filka, Sr.

Jackie V. Filka, Sr., 88, of Edgerton, Ohio, passed away Monday, July 22, 2024 at Dream Haven, Edgerton. 

Jackie was born in Toledo on December, 19, 1935, a son of the late Trellise (Abt) & Paul Filka. 

Jackie proudly served his country in the US Air Force. He was an accomplished senior lineman for Toledo Edison, but also spent time farming and owning a restaurant in Toledo. Jackie enjoyed country living on the farm, tending to crops, livestock, and his true passion was gardening. He will be remembered most for his willingness to help those around him, while asking for nothing in return. Those who met him were his friends for life. 

He is survived by his special friend, Rebecca (Mark) Stuart; & three special friends, who were also linemen, Rich Link, Jack McLeod and Steve Smoot.

Jackie was preceded in death by his son, Jackie, Jr. & brother, Paul Filka. 

He will be laid to rest privately.
