Jacob "Jake" Yoder, 80, of Woodburn passed away Friday, June 21, 2013 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
Jacob was born in Harlan, Indiana on February 25, 1933, a son of the late Rosa (Graber) and Peter Yoder.
He served in the U.S. Army and worked in construction and at Adams & Walda Furniture.
Jake attended the Woodburn Missionary Church, was a member of the American Legion & the American Bowling Assn., where he entered their Hall of Fame when he won the Singles Championship in Knoxville, TN.
On March 28, 1953 Jake married Harriet Jane Gustin.
Jake will be sadly missed by his wife, Jane; children, Janeen (Joe) Malfait of Woodburn, Dr. Jeffery (Margaret) of Fort Wayne, Jason (Debbie) of Harlan & Joan (Jack) Erick of Grabill; sister, Maggie (Amos) Schwartz of Harlan; 12 grandchildren & 6 great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Schwartz, Joseph, Victor, Menno, Amos & Elmer.
His service is at Woodburn Missionary Church, 5108 Bull Rapids Rd, Woodburn, IN at 10 am on Tuesday, June 25th, with viewing one hour prior.
Viewing is also Monday, 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Woodburn Missionary Church.
He will be laid to rest at Scipio Cemetery Harlan, IN.
Memorials are to Allen County SPCA or Woodburn Children's Home.
