Janet Denning

Janet C. Denning, 82, of Payne, Ohio was taken into the loving arms of the Lord on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Vancrest of Payne. 

Janet was born in Paulding County, Ohio on June 10, 1942, a daughter of the late Bonneta (Martin) and Marion Burkley.

Many would remember her contagious smile when she greeted customers at Denning's Drive-In in Payne for 34 years. She thoroughly enjoyed people, especially when she played cards with friends and shopping. Janet dedicated her life to her family and her church, having taught Sunday School for many years at St. Paul United Methodist Church. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Janet will be sadly missed by her husband, Ralph to whom she was married on July 11, 1959; children, Tammy (Chris) Brigner and Steve (Jeanise) Denning; daughter-in-law, Jody Denning; siblings, Joan (David) Heltz, Rick (Sandy) Burkley; Bob (Rita) Burkley and Tony (Nancy) Burkley; 8 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Mike and sister, Marsha (Jim) Franklin.

Viewing is Wednesday, 4 to 7 PM at Dooley Funeral Home, 5761 SR 500, Payne.

Her funeral service is Thursday, December 5th, 10:30 AM, with viewing from 9:30 to 10:15 AM at Saint Paul United Methodist Church, 312 S Main Street, Payne.

She will be laid to rest in Lehman Cemetery, Payne.
