Jean B DeLong

Jean B. DeLong, 98, of Antwerp, Ohio passed away Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Vancrest of Hicksville.

She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on July 26, 1926, a daughter of the late Vernice (Reichelderfer) and George Potts.

Jean will always be remembered for being the kindest soul you ever knew. Her entire life was lived selflessly in service of God and those around her. She thoroughly enjoyed people, especially her friends at the Antwerp Global Methodist Church and those in her Red Hat Society group. Jean worked for 20 years at Magnavox and also was a valued employee at International Harvester and Dana Weatherhead.

She will be sadly missed by her children, Carol (the late Richard) Obenour, Jack (Julie) DeLong and Barry (Donna) Delong; grandchildren, Michael (Virginia) Kipker, David Obenour, Patricia (Bradley) Turner, Jeremy (Regina) DeLong, Travis DeLong, Josh Miller, Leslie (Andrew) Wagner, Mindy (Seth) Bidlack and Jared (Monika) DeLong; 26 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. 

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl, to whom she was married May 19, 1945; siblings, May Fuhrer, Pete, Jack, Bob and Walter Potts and grandson, Eric Nelson

Viewing is Wednesday, August 28th, 4 - 7 PM at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River Street, Antwerp.

Jean's funeral service is Thursday, 10 AM with viewing 9 - 9:45 AM at Antwerp Global Methodist Church, 202 E. River Street, Antwerp.

She will be laid to rest in Maumee Cemetery, Antwerp.
