Jill Porter

Jill Porter, 66, of Payne, passed away Sunday, August 6th, at the Country Inn Enhanced Living Center.

Jill was born October 1, 1956 to Richard & Joan (Ames) Schmidt.

Jill's patient and compassionate demeanor made her career as a special education teacher a perfect match. She made such an impact in her communities from championing for her students to filling the world with laughter.

Jill and her husband retired to Cinco Ventanas, Costa Rica in 2014, before returning to Ohio in 2018 to be closer to family.

She will be deeply missed by her parents, Joan & Richard Schmidt; daughter Kierin (Michael) Beasom; siblings, Jim (Terese) Schmidt, & Jay (Jodie) Schmidt; sister-in-law Denise (Dale) Nelson; & brother-in-law Nathan Porter.
Jill was preceded in death by her husband Theodore Porter

Services will be held on Wednesday, August 16th, at 1:30 pm at St. John's Lutheran Church 7611 Rd. 87, Briceton, OH 45879.
