Walter G. "Joe" Ross, 90, of Antwerp, passed away at 2:49 AM, Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008 peacefully at Paulding County Hospital.
Joe was born in Cecil, Ohio on October 19, 1917, the son of the late William Henry and Edith May (Woodring) Ross.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Joe was the owner at Ross Service Sunoco Station, Antwerp.
Joe was a member of the Antwerp VFW Post 5087, Hicksville Masonic Lodge 478 & the First Presbyterian Church of Antwerp.
In 1939 Joe married Betty Stiebling, who passed away in 2004.
Joe will be sadly missed by his daughters, Sue (Walter) Schilb of Antwerp & Jan (Don) Farnsworth of Chicago; sons, Terry of Indianapolis & William of St Louis, MO; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Joe is preceded in death by his brothers, Clarence, Arl & Francis.
You are invited to participate in his service at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp, Saturday, 11 am, with calling one hour prior. Rev. Ralph Klinker will officiate.
You may also call Friday, 2-4 & 6-8 pm, with Masonic Rites at 8 pm.
He will be laid to rest at Rochester Cemetery, Cecil, with military honors.
