John L. DeVore

John Lewis DeVore, 87, of Antwerp, passed away Friday, January 6, 2017 at Parkview Regional Medical Center.

John was born in Chester, PA  on June 16, 1929 a son of the late William E. & Mary A. (Feeley) DeVore.

He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and was a valued employee at Dana Weatherhead for over 30 years. Although John worked hard, he was more content cheering for the Philadelphia Phillies and the Notre Dame football team.  He also enjoyed time with friends at the Antwerp VFW, Hicksville Eagles and the Amvets where he held lifetime memberships. 

John will be sadly missed by his children, Linda (Tom) Wilhelm, Jack (Traci) both of Antwerp & Mike (Donna) of Payne; sister, Margaret Houseworth of Celina; aunt, Justa Olivier of Wilmington, DE; 8 grandchildren & 15 great grandchildren.

On March 30, 2002, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene (Clarkson), whom he married August 11, 1949.

Service is Friday 11 am, with viewing one hour prior at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River Street, Antwerp.

Viewing is also Thursday, 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Dooley Funeral Home.

He will be laid to rest at Maumee Cemetery.
