John Steven Aloysius Kurkey

John Steven Aloysius Kurkey, 63, of Payne passed away Sunday, June 21, 2015 at Paulding County Hospital.

John was born in Uniontown, PA on November 18, 1951 to the late Stanley Kurkey, Sr. & Anna Kathryn (Koslick) Dunay.

John proudly served in the U.S. Navy for several years & often reflected upon the many wonderful places he had been to.  Out of all his travels he chose to make his home near his beloved sister in the tranquil town of Paulding.  A fast friend to all he enjoyed the warmth & acceptance he found here. 

He will be dearly missed by his sister, Beverly (Russell) Claybourne of Payne, niece Nikia of Payne, niece Larissa of FT. Wayne, Great Nephews Ian & Jayce of Payne, and so many more.

He is preceded in death by his siblings, Kathryn Jean Graham, Patricia Ann, Betty Lee, Stanley, Jr., & Donald Kurkey.
 
Viewing is Wednesday, 6 to 8 pm, at Dooley Funeral Home, Payne.

Graveside military services are at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on Thursday, 11:30 am.
