John Stuart

John Clinton Stuart, 86, of Cecil, Ohio passed away Friday, July 12, 2024 at Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born in Cecil on February 11, 1938, a son of the late Gertie Mae (Coon) and William Jennings Stuart.

John loved motorcycles and enjoyed working on and restoring antique tractors. He was a member of Flat Rock Tractor Club, John Paulding Historical Society and attended the Rose Hill Church of God. John was also a former assistant chief of the Crane Township Cecil Fire Department. John favored farming but he also worked at Haviland Drainage, Dinner Bell Foods, Hammans Motorcycle Shop and the Cecil Grain Elevator.

John will be sadly missed by his children, Rebecca (Mark Winberg) Stuart & Kevin (Kristine) Stuart; grandchildren, Kyle (Angela) Hanenkratt, Michele (Austin) Carder, Michael (Kayla) Stuart; great grandchildren, Colton Hanenkratt, Oaklynn Stuart and Parker & Nolan Hoffman; his sister, Nellie Bauer and his companion Helen Coombs

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie (Henderson) Stuart and a daughter, Sandra Jane Hanenkratt.

Viewing is Wednesday, July 17th, 4 to 7 PM at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River Street, Antwerp, Ohio.

John's funeral service is Thursday, July 18th, 10:30 AM, with viewing one hour prior at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp.

He will be laid to rest in Rochester Cemetery, Cecil.

Memorials are to Cecil Fire Department, Rose Hill Church of God or Dream Haven Activity Fund.
