Juanita Mae Carr

Juanita Mae Carr, 94, of Antwerp passed away at home on Sunday, November 12, 2017.

Juanita was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on September 12, 1923, a daughter of the late Minta (Newton) and William  Smitley.

After knowing him since childhood, Juanita married John Lewis Carr in Boston on December 29, 1943,  while he was on leave from his military service. John passed away on December 18, 2011 in Florida.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. 

Juanita will be sadly missed by her daughter, Kathy (Bob) Myers of Antwerp; sister-in-law, Geri Smitley of Hicksville; 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and her dog, Okie. 

She was also preceded in death by her son, Lyle John Carr; siblings, Lucille Coe and Kenneth and Ivan Smitley and an infant sister, Irma Smitley.

You are invited to participate in her farewell ceremony on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 2 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River Street, Antwerp, Ohio.

Visitation is Friday, November 17, 2017 from 12:30 to 2 pm at Dooley Funeral Home.

Juanita will be laid to rest in Maumee Cemetery.

Memorials are to Community Health Professionals Hospice.
