Kenneth G. James, 78, of Payne, went to be with the Lord, in the presence of his loved ones on Saturday, July 30, 2016  at Twin Rivers Care Center, Defiance.

Kenny was born in Payne, on June 30, 1938, a son of the late Mildred (George) and Lloyd  James.

He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church Payne. Kenny retired from International Harvester in 2003, but was more content at the reel end of a fishing pole and enjoyed gardening. He made fond memories while camping with his family and celebrating birthdays with his homemade ice cream.   

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Evelyn (Pieper), whom he married April 11, 1959; daughters, Cynthia (Mike) Kipfer of Fort Wayne & Connie (Steve) Snyder of Payne; siblings, Ila (Kerm) Duff of Fort Wayne, Janet (David) Laker of Cecil, Diana (Terry) Lacy of Napoleon & Walter (Robin) James of Payne; 4 grandchildren, Noah & Natalie Snyder and Autumn & Nate Kipfer and a great granddaughter, Kairi Mae Bostic

Kenny is also preceded in death by his siblings, Jean Salway, Harry & Bruce James.

Funeral Service is Thursday, 11 am, with viewing one hour prior at Dooley Funeral Home, 5761 SR 500, Payne.

Viewing is also Wednesday, 4-8 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, Payne.

He will be laid to rest in Wiltsie Cemetery.

Memorials are to Kairi Mae Bostic College Fund or Payne Fire & EMS.
