Kim Yong Cha Shidler, 79, of Cecil, passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, at The Gardens of Paulding.
She was born in Korea on June 21, 1939, daughter to the late Hyu Hong Kim and Kyong Ok Yim.
Kim married her husband Gerry in Seoul, South Korea on December 2, 1969. She moved with her husband to the United States and became a U.S. citizen. She worked at the GM Powertrain Foundry in Defiance until 2000, not missing a day of work in 25 years.
She was fanatical about her baseball team, the Chicago Cubs. She always watched the Cubs on WGN at home anytime she could. If she was at a grandkids ball game, you could find her wearing a blue Cubs jacket. She also enjoyed traveling with her family and cooking for loved ones.
Kim will be fondly missed by her husband, Gerry Shidler; children: Jin Suk (Bob) Aylward, Angel (Jan) Perry, & Tammy (Dan) Layton; grandchildren: Jennifer, Ryan, Collin, Callie, Jackson, Alex; great-grandchild: Reilly. Kim was predeceased by her brother Hyun-Kul Kim.
Service is Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, 10:30 am at First Baptist Church of Antwerp with viewing at 9:30 am.
Viewing is also Monday, Jan. 14, 2019 4 - 7 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp.
Kim will be laid to rest in Maumee Cemetery.
Memorials are to the donor's choice.
