Laura Savieo, of Paulding, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on April 9, 2023. Laura was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on April 29, 1960, the second of six daughters born to the late Margaret and Louis Savieo. She was a joyous part of the Savieo family for 62 years, 11 months, and 9 days. She brightened the lives of everyone who knew her.
Laura was quick to laugh, quick to get on the dance floor, and quick to tell the people in her life that she loved them. She had a generous, gentle, gigantic heart. In her youth, Laura was a highly decorated participant in the Special Olympics. She enjoyed bowling and vacationing at her favorite dude ranch. She loved chocolate, Diet Coke, animals and Stevie Wonder. Most of all, she loved people. If you ever met Laura, you should know that she considered you a friend.
She will be greatly missed by her sisters Louise (John) Grabner, Teresa (Jeff) Gloyd, Julie (James) Harbin, Marian (the late Brian) Saylor, and Patricia Savieo; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; loving caregivers, community and friends from PC Workshop. Next time you hear “I Just Called to Say I Love You,” why not sing along? Better yet, take a moment to tell someone that you love them.
Private family services were held at Dooley Funeral Home, 5761 SR 500, Payne, Ohio.
She was laid to rest in Saint John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Payne.
Memorials are to PC Workshop, 900 W Caroline Street, Paulding, Ohio 45879 or Paulding County Dog Kennel, c/o Paulding County Sheriff’s Office, 500 East Perry Street, Paulding, Ohio 45879.
