Leonard F. Zuber, 74, of Payne, passed away Friday, February 17, 2012 surrounded by his family, at his residence.
Leonard was born in Payne on August 1, 1937, a son of the late Isabelle (Wetli) and Frank Zuber.
He served in the U.S. Army, from 1960 to 1962. Leonard was a retired farmer, also worked at Dana Corp. and was a Benton Twp. Trustee from 1990 to 2010. He enjoyed pheasant hunting, sports, gardening, traveling and wintering in Florida. Leonard was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan, but enjoyed his grandchildren's sporting events most of all. Leonard was a proud member of the Divine Mercy Catholic Church Choir.
On Oct. 5, 1963 he married Marilyn Gonya.
Leonard will be sadly missed by his wife, Marilyn; children Mike (Cindy) of Fort Wayne, Steve (Nicole) of Van Wert, Laura (Rich) Brinkman of Monroeville, IN, Karen (Eric) Overholt of Delphos, Greg (Ruth) of Fort Wayne; siblings, Russell (Carol) of Payne & Beatrice (Leonard) Karr of Garrett, IN; brother-in-law, Gary Wobler of Carmel, IN; former exchange student son, Dan Gadioma of NY, NY & 13 grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death are his siblings, Arlene Wobler & David.
Viewing is Monday, 2-4 & 6-8 pm, and Tuesday 9-9:30 am at Dooley Funeral Home, Payne.
The rosary will be recited Monday at 8 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, Payne.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Payne, at 10 am on Tuesday, February 21st, with Rev. G. Allan Fillman officiating.
He will be laid to rest at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
