LeRoy "Whitey" Baumert

LeRoy R. Baumert, 84, of Payne, passed away after a short illness, Friday, December 16, 2011, surrounded by his loving family, at his residence.

Whitey was born in Allen County, IN on September 29, 1927, a son of the late Minerva (Louden) and Carl  Baumert.

He retired from at Dana Corp. Auburn; was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and New Haven Masonic Lodge #740.  

On Nov. 28, 1946 Whitey married his wife of 65 years, Nadine Myers.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Nadine; daughters, Kathleen (Gene) Flaugh & Kristine (Gary) Gerardot, both of Payne & Karen (Jim) Derrow of Auburn; siblings, William of New Haven & Doris Doty of Columbia City; 7 grandchildren, Trent & Kiley Flaugh, Kimra Williamson, Andrea Haskins, Ryan & Troy Gerardot, Jessica Riebesehl  and 12 great grandchildren.

Whitey is also preceded in death by his siblings, Helen McNeal & Charles.

Viewing is Monday, 2 to 7:30 pm, with Masonic Services at 7:30 pm, at St. James Lutheran Church, Payne.

His funeral service is at St. James Lutheran Church, Payne, at 11 am on Tuesday, December 20th,  with viewing one hour prior. Rev. Fred Meuter will officiate.

He will be laid to rest at Lehman Cemetery.

Memorials are to the church or Paulding Hospice.
