Lois VonGunten

Lois M. VonGunten, 86, of Leo, Indiana passed away at home on Thursday, February 9, 2023.

Lois was born in Woodburn, Indiana on December 12, 1936, a daughter of the late Thelma (Zook) and Jesse Litzenberg.

Lois worked for over 20 years at Magnavox. She also taught piano lessons in her home for many years. Lois enjoyed watching sports. She cheered on all the college Indiana teams. Lois especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports. She loved attending their musical performances also. Lois loved playing the organ, piano, singing in the church choir and in Senior Saints.  Flowers brought Lois much joy and she thoroughly loved flower gardening.  She had the prettiest flowers around.  Her true passions were family, loving others and serving Jesus.  All of which were exemplified in her personality and how she treated others.

Lois will be sadly missed by her husband of 66 years, Kent; children, Ron (Anne), Steve (Julie) VonGunten and Tami (Jim) Robbins; grandchildren; Joshua (Ashley) VonGunten; Jessica (Sam) Gensic; Valerie (Adam) Clark; Melissa (Kyle) Pearson, Luke VonGunten, Andrew (Madison) VonGunten; Ben (fiancee Taylor Waterway) VonGunten; Hannah (Levi) Baumer, Micah Robbins, & 16 great grandchildren; brother, Dennis (Sue) Litzenberg.  She was preceded in death by her sister, LaDonna Gerig.

Her funeral service is 10:30 AM, with viewing 9:30 - 10:15 AM on Friday, February 17th at Woodburn Missionary Church, 5108 Bull Rapids Rd, Woodburn, IN 46797.

Viewing is also Thursday, February 16th, 4 - 7 PM at the church.

She will be laid to rest at Woodburn Evangelical Mennonite Cemetery.
