D. Louise Miller, 81, of Antwerp, passed away at 8:45 am, Thursday, September 11th, 2008 at The Gardens of Paulding.
She was born in Fort Wayne on August 4, 1927, the daughter of the late George and Dorothy (Stellar) Allison.
Louise worked many years in food service and was a regular panelist on the WANE-TV Anne Cologne Show. She was Mayor of Antwerp from 1988-2000, being the 1st female & 1st consecutive 3 term Mayor of Antwerp, who was an intricate part of the Fort to Port U.S. 24 project; a member of the Antwerp United Methodist Church, Antwerp VFW & Legion Auxiliaries and the Royal Neighbors.
On March 26, 1945 she married Leon Miller. He died January 16, 1996.
Louise will be sadly missed by her daughters, Susan (Terry) Warner of Defiance, Barbara (Tim) Kelley of Grand View, IN, Patricia (Fain) Lowe of Antwerp; sons, Steven (Viv) of Holland, MI, David of New Haven, Daniel of Antwerp; 11 grandchildren & 17 great grandchildren.
Her sisters, Sharon & Joann Allison preceded her in death.
You are invited to participate in her funeral service at Antwerp United Methodist Church at 11 am on Monday, September 15th, with viewing one hour prior. Rev. Michael Schneider will officiate.
She will be laid to rest at Maumee Cemetery, Antwerp.
Visitation is Sunday, 2 to 8pm, at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp.
The family requests donations to Paulding County Hospital Home Health.
